Jungle guided tours
A tour through the beautiful jungle of Khao Sok is without doubt the most important reason for a visit to this national park. After you have relaxed for a while on one of the beautiful Thai islands or if you want to escape the chaos of Bangkok, Khao Sok is the wonderful destination to enjoy nature.
2-day jungle tour
Like in the whole of Thailand, there is also plenty of choice for tours for Khao Sok. For example, day trips as well as multi-day tours are possible to this park. We can definitely recommend the 2-day tour, because you can experience all aspects of Khao Sok. You can, for example, participate in a night safari, enjoy both the sunset and the sunrise and spend the night in a floating bamboo hut.
What can you expect?
The tour starts right away; with a boat you sail over the beautiful Cheow Lan lake. There are more than 100 islands in this lake. This cruise is really delicious and you will certainly enjoy the enormous peace that prevails in combination with the beautiful view you have. So you sail past untouched jungle and limestone rocks that rise out of the water.
After a trip over the water of about one hour you reach the place where you will spend the night. As soon as you see the ‘accommodation’ you immediately fall in love. You spend the night in a beautiful setting; floating bamboo huts on the water, surrounded by the jungle.
It is of course not a luxury hotel, but the environment gives you that feeling. In the huts there is a mattress with mosquito net and there is no electricity. In addition, you have no range with your phone which means you can really relax and enjoy this paradise on earth. There is ‘unfortunately’ nothing else than to dive into the water from your cabin or to kayak over the beautiful lake.
After you have relaxed, it is time for action. A beautiful hike through the jungle brings you to a beautiful viewpoint over the landscape in Khao Sok.
The next stop is a bats cave that you can walk through. Although, on some points you will even have to swim … you walk regularly to your waistline through the water. The cave is more than 1 km long and you will encounter hundreds of bats hanging from the ceiling.
As soon as the sun sets, it is time for the next activity: the night safari. This is a very special experience, since you hear the animals in the jungle literally come to life. You go in search of the famous gibbon monkeys. Besides the gibbons you also come across long-tailed monkeys, spiders, scorpions and some snakes.
After a night’s sleep in the middle of the jungle, the next day starts early in the morning. An alarm clock is not necessary, because you are automatically awakened by the sound of the existing lizards and swinging monkeys in the trees. You start with a nice breakfast and then step into the boat to make an unforgettable trip across the lake.
You see several monkeys clambering through the trees and several birds fly around (in the park live more than 300 different species of birds). Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere in this park and occasionally squeeze yourself in your arm to make sure you are not dreaming.
Although prices always change, prices are often around 2500 baht per person excluding entrance to the National Park.
